Claude 3 Haiku

Anthropic is a prominent AI research and development company known for creating sophisticated language models. The latest generation of AI models from Anthropic is the Claude 3 model family, which includes Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3 Sonnet, and Claude 3 Opus. These models are designed to cater to a variety of use cases, with each subsequent model offering enhanced intelligence, speed, and cost-effectiveness.

Key features of the Claude 3 model family are:

- Near-instant results: The models can facilitate live customer chats, auto-completions, and data extraction tasks that require immediate, real-time responses.
- Strong vision capabilities: The models can process a diverse range of visual formats, such as photos, charts, graphs, and technical diagrams.
- Fewer refusals: Compared to previous generations, these models are less likely to refuse to answer prompts that are close to the system's guardrails.
- Improved accuracy: The models show a twofold improvement in accuracy on complex, factual questions compared to Claude 2.1.
- Long context and near-perfect recall: The models have a 200K context window at launch, with the ability to accept inputs exceeding 1 million tokens.

The Claude 3 model family can be accessed through claude.ai and the Claude API, which is now widely available in 159 countries. Opus and Sonnet are currently available, with Haiku expected to be available soon. The models can also be accessed through Amazon Bedrock and in private preview on Google Cloud's Vertex AI Model Garden.

Over the next few months, Anthropic plans to release regular updates to the Claude 3 model family, as well as introduce new features to enhance the models' capabilities, especially for enterprise use cases and large-scale deployments. These new features will include Tool Use (also known as function calling), interactive coding (also known as REPL), and more advanced agentic capabilities.
