We love technology but we love humans more

Artificial intelligence is more than just a technological breakthrough or fad; it’s a transformative force that’s already begun to reshape not only every job, but also our very perception of what it will mean to be human. There is justifiable reason for excitement and concern. We founded CO/AI to provide clarity.

Organizations across the globe are in a race to automate major work streams but struggle to understand even their existing employee’s current AI-readiness. Governments are challenged to implement unified policies that preserve stability while also fostering creativity. And the media hype cycle obscures both the severity of the risks and the empowering potential AI represents.

These forces make it downright overwhelming for individuals, from artists to engineers, to determine where they will stand in an AI-driven world, conspiring to make the question of how to keep humans empowered in this new era the defining question of our age.

Our answer to this question is AI Literacy.

The fundamental importance of AI literacy

AI literacy refers to the knowledge and skills needed to understand, critically evaluate and effectively use AI technologies. Practically, it encompasses a general awareness of how AI systems are developed and deployed, along with an understanding of their potential impacts and ethical considerations. AI literacy enables individuals to comprehend the basics of AI functionality, recognize which tools are available and how to use them in daily life and work. In essence, promoting AI literacy is about equipping people and organizations with the practical skills required in an increasingly automated world. And it will be critical, for knowledge workers, leaders and policy makers alike, to make informed decisions that shape the trajectory of our global society.

Our Vision

We envision a future in which AI serves humanity, enhancing our capabilities rather than overshadowing or obviating them. This vision is grounded in the belief that the upcoming AI wave should create wealth and opportunities equitably. To realize this, CO/AI is creating a community platform that connects people from varied backgrounds—students, professionals, creators, leaders and thinkers—to explore and harness AI’s potential. How we do this will be guided by our core values.

Empowering individuals
AI literacy is at our core. We believe in equipping all people with the knowledge and tools to thrive in an AI-centric economy. This empowerment journey begins with discovering effective AI resources and tools and extends to mastering their use. Our aim is to nurture AI-enabled leaders, scholars and executives who can confidently navigate the AI landscape and leverage its advantages in their respective fields.

Empowering emerging AI enterprises
A diverse and fair AI ecosystem is how responsible innovation will flourish. Supporting emerging AI enterprises is essential to prevent monopolistic dominance and ensure a fair and dynamic market. CO/AI serves as a catalyst for these innovators, providing them with the visibility and resources needed to grow and succeed.

Fostering global coordination & leadership
AI’s impact is global, necessitating worldwide coordination to ensure a uniform set of policies that are easily understood by creators and users across the world. CO/AI is committed to fostering dialogue and cooperation across geographies and domains to shape norms and regulations in a way that considers challenges and opportunities holistically.

Staying ahead of the AI curve can be challenging, which is why we have designed our platform to facilitate discovery, self-directed learning and practical application of AI technologies. We aim to provide a space where people can discover the latest AI advancements, connect with the brilliant minds behind these technologies, access training resources, and engage with other community members to share knowledge and opportunities. If our mission resonates with you, we invite you to be part of that community, where you can help us shape the development of AI and ultimately keep yourself and others in the loop.
